David A. Gortz, CLU, President

As our President for over twenty years, Dave
sets the tone and priorities for Leterman-Gortz. Dave numbers many top international, national and local firms
as his clients. They come from many
industries - service, distribution and professional. They have chosen Leterman-Gortz because
of his outstanding service, technical expertise and breadth of knowledge of
the industry gleaned over three decades.
His hard work and attention to detail were learned from father,
Norman Gortz, CLU, a founder of Leterman-Gortz. To this day insurance company representatives tell him he is
among the very few brokers who always reads the contracts they
deliver. His service philosophy is
to cherish each client as a member of the family rather than just a
customer.
Dave graduated from
The Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at The University of
Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics.
His major in insurance allowed him to pass all his CLU exams prior
to graduation. He has taught CLU
classes at The College of Insurance.
Dave and his wife, Linda,
have four children and have lived in Wilton, Connecticut for more than
twenty-five years. Community
service is very important to him, particularly helping those with special
needs which has been a life long commitment. Dave is currently President of the Board of ARC, Inc., in
Greenwich and previously served in the same capacity for STAR, Inc., in
Norwalk. He also has served as
President of The Smugglers' Notch, Vermont Homeowners Association and
coached soccer for sixteen years receiving the first annual David McCue
Award from the Wilton Soccer Association for coaching excellence and
dedication to making sure everyone plays and has fun.
